Basketball Shoes
Purchasing
basketball shoes is always a tough decision! Mostly because there are so many
different things you are looking for when picking basketball shoes out! Such as
how heavy the shoe is, what style it is (low tops, mid tops, or high tops), how
much they cost, and even the type of technology in the shoe! We are going to
compare the newest Kobe’s, LeBron’s, and APL’s and see what shoe comes out on
the top, as the best basketball shoe on the market.
Weight
First comparison
is weight! As you may know basketball if a very quick game and you don’t want
shoes that are going to hold you back! You want to be able to run, jump, and
play defense and offence as fast and quick as possible. You want shoes that are light on your feet so
you can play to your full potential. Heavy shoes will make you less quick and
if heavy enough they may even make you jump less high (which is never a
positive). In first are the Kobe system 8’s that weigh in at 9.6 ounces. In the commercials for this shoe they compare
the shoes to a cheetah so you know they must be lightweight and help you be as
fast as possible. In second are the APL concept 2’s.They weigh 15 ounces witch
is not to much but still more then the Kobe’s. And last in weight are the
lebrons10’s weighing in at a whopping 17 ounces! A lot of people choose to wear
other shoes just because the LeBron’s are to ‘heavy’! All in all round one to
the Kobe system 8’s for being the lightest shoes of the three!
Style
Almost
all people who play basketball competitively wear high top’s the reason is approximately
15 percent of basketball-related ankle injuries are broken ankles. Some may say wear ankle braces to prevent an injury but
if you wear high top’s it also helps you prevent an ankle injury. That’s why
picking the kind of shoes you wear is so important. Most basketball players
prefer high tops while playing because they by far give the most ankle support.
The Kobe 8’s are low tops so the chances of an ankle injury are increased if
you wear them. If you choose to wear any type of ankle support they are fine.
Because they are low tops the advantage goes to the other two shoes. The APL’s
and LeBron’s 10’s are both high top’s. The APL’s concept 2’s are lower then the
LeBron’s however they are high tops so in this category the advantage go’s to
not only the LeBron 10,s but also APL concept 2’s.
